88% of our mind is subconscious. The place where we hold our belief systems and patterns/habits. When they don't serve us any more, we have the ability to change them.

With the amount of stress we are under, we tend to go into our 'auto-pilot' mode to survive. It's a protective factor, yet it can run deep; the suggestions that we take in daily. This is why, even though we want to make changes consciously, yet have a hard time making the changes, or even give in, this is our subconscious driving and keeping true to it's patterns, (again, for survival).
